Biography

Born in sunny Bolton in 1983, from the age of 10 Gareth grew up amongst the rolling hills and fresh country air of the Lake District. Growing up in the beauty of this environment sparked his love of photography from an early age - the eagerness and passion of capturing a moment as perfectly as possible so that it may never be lost.


Gareth enjoys a range of areas of photography, from working in the fast paced action of a live event, which requires constant attentiveness and quick reactions, to a relaxed, carefully and thoughtfully planned portraiture session.


He feels that photography is not just about an obviously beautiful landscape or a stunning sunset, it is about finding the beauty in something others may simply see as ordinary - finding the hidden quality in a person or place and bringing it to the fore with the right photo.


The pieces Gareth loves the most tend to hold a delicate and simple quality, extracted from the "bigger picture" of the environment. An ode to the unnoticed.



When working with a client, Gareth adopts an attitude of "the customer is always right" and believes that a good photographer identifies what his client is looking for and adapts accordingly.
